Munawwar Abdulla is an Uyghur writer, translator, and activist born on Kaurna land (Australia) and based in the US. She co-founded The Tarim Network, runs Uyghur Collective, and collaborates on projects with Uyghur rights organisations around the world. Her writings and literary translations have been published in places such as Cordite Poetry Review, Modern Poetry in Translation, Asymptote, The Margins, and others. She is also the co-editor of the Contemporary Uyghur Anthology series, Under the Mulberry Tree. When she is not taking on a new project, you can find her coordinating research groups in the HEB department at Harvard University, trying to remember katas, or chilling with her cat Aykhan.
Uyghur is pronounced ooy-ghur (ئۇيغۇر) or oy-gur if you can't do 'gh'.
